TACO EATING CONTEST

Eligibility: Contest is open to everyone 18 years old or older. Employees, owners, operators of Baja Sol Restaurants Group, LLC, or any Baja Sol franchisee and members of their immediate families are not eligible to enter. Void where prohibited.
To Enter: Read carefully the Official Contest Rules and Entry Form. The Baja Sol Taco Eating Contest including the eligibility requirements and waiver of liability provisions must be completed and signed below. All entry slips must be received before Sunday, April 25, 2010. Eight e-mail forms completed at the restaurants will be randomly pulled and the contestants will be contacted via e-mail on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. The chosen contestants must respond by e-mail by Friday, April 30, 2010. If a contestant does not respond, a replacement will be selected to compete. All entry forms become the property of Baja Sol Restaurants Group LLC.
Contest Rules: There will be one competition for all qualifying contestants. Contestants will compete against each other for a Grand Prize. All contestants must be present and registered at the Baja Sol registration table by 1:15 pm on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 for final instruction. Upon registering you will receive a badge and will be instructed to wait in a designated area. A contestant will forfeit his or her place should he or she fail to register at the Baja Sol table by 1:15 p.m. on May 5, 2010 and be continuously present for the duration of the contest. Contestants will also forfeit his or her place if they leave the waiting area after they register.
The object is to eat as many tacos (6” soft shell, ground beef, lettuce and cheese) in any style, with any condiments and any beverage (excluding any forms of alcohol), as possible within the allotted time: 5 minutes. Contestants may eat either sitting or standing in their designated area using their hands. Contestants must complete eating one taco before proceeding to the next taco. Contestants must wait for the starting signal. Contestants must stop eating and must promptly place their hands down on the table or at their side at the ending signal. Contestants may not put additional tacos in their mouths after the ending signal, but will be allowed 15 seconds to swallow any tacos already in their mouth at the time of the ending signal. If a contestant throws up or regurgitates, he or she will be automatically disqualified. Judges will be on hand to assure adherence to contest rules, tally the number of tacos eaten, monitor the “no throw up or regurgitating” rule, and to disqualify contestants who fail to adhere to the rules. Winners will be determined by number of tacos eaten. In the event of a tie, after a brief interval, 1 minute 30 second eat-offs will take place until the winner is selected.
PRIZE AWARDS:
· Contestant who eats the most tacos within the allotted time of 5 minutes will receive the Grand Prize of a $500.00 gift card from Baja Sol and a first place trophy.
· Contestant who eats the second to the most tacos within the allotted time of 5 minutes will receive the Second Place Prize of a $200.00 gift card from Baja Sol.
· Contestant who eats the third to the most tacos within the allotted time of 5 minutes will receive the Third Place Prize of a $100.00 gift card from Baja Sol.
